Considered Design. Skilled Craftsmanship.
The Style and Space Interiors × A. DeVito & Son, Inc. Design and Construction Collaboration
A beautiful, well-designed home is never the work of just one person.
Behind every finished room is a team of designers, builders, craftspeople, installers, vendors, and specialists working together to turn an idea into something real. And after years of working in interior design, we’ve learned that one of the most important relationships on any home renovation is the one between the interior designer and the contractor.
That’s why our collaboration with A. DeVito & Son, Inc. has become such a natural fit.
At Style and Space Interiors, we approach a home by thinking about how it should look, yes, but just as importantly, how it should function and feel. We consider the architecture, flow, materials, cabinetry, lighting, furnishings, and all of the details that ultimately make a house feel personal to the people who live there.
A. DeVito & Son, Inc. brings the construction expertise and craftsmanship needed to bring that vision to life.
Together, we offer homeowners a connected approach to interior design and construction, with both teams working collaboratively from the earliest planning stages through the finishing details.
Design and construction should speak the same language
There is a tremendous advantage to having the interior designer and contractor communicating throughout a renovation or other project.
A decision that seems purely aesthetic can have implications for framing, plumbing, electrical, millwork, installation, or budget. Likewise, something discovered during construction can affect the design of an entire space.
When those conversations happen early, we can solve problems before they become expensive changes in the field.
Our relationship with Kyle DeVito and his team is collaborative from the start. We talk through the feasibility of an idea, work out complicated details, review materials and specifications, and make adjustments together as a project evolves.
For the homeowner, that translates into a much more cohesive renovation process, with both teams working toward the same vision.
Different expertise, one shared goal
Style and Space Interiors and A. DeVito & Son, Inc. each bring something different to the table.
We lead the interior design vision, from space planning and architectural details to kitchen and bathroom design, custom cabinetry, finishes, lighting, furnishings, and the layers that give a home its personality.
The DeVito team brings five generations of construction knowledge, an understanding of how homes are actually built, and the skilled craftsmanship required to execute those ideas in the field.
Neither discipline exists in a vacuum.
The best design has to be buildable. And exceptional construction is even more powerful when every decision is part of a thoughtful overall design.
It’s why the phrase we use to describe our collaboration feels so fitting:
Considered design. Skilled craftsmanship.
The little conversations make a big difference
Some of the most important moments on a renovation project aren't ones anyone would consider glamorous.
They’re conversations about where an outlet needs to land inside a vanity. Whether a particular tub will work with the plumbing rough-in. How a stone backsplash meets an upper cabinet. Where blocking needs to go before a wall is closed. How a molding detail transitions from one room to another.
These decisions rarely make it into the final photographs, but they are often what separate a good renovation from a great one.
Because our teams communicate throughout the process, we're able to look at those details from both sides: how something should look and how it needs to be built.
The result is a home where the overall design vision and the smallest construction details work together.
A more connected experience for our clients
Renovating a home involves hundreds of decisions, and we don't believe the homeowner should have to act as the messenger between their interior designer and contractor.
Our collaborative approach allows us to work through many of those questions together, bring our clients informed recommendations, and keep the original design intent at the center of the project as construction moves forward.
It also creates room for better ideas.
Sometimes a contractor sees an opportunity during construction that improves the design. Sometimes a design detail leads us to rethink how something should be built. The best projects happen when everyone feels comfortable bringing those ideas to the table.
Whether we're reimagining a kitchen, renovating bathrooms, or transforming multiple rooms, that ongoing communication helps us navigate the complexities of construction while keeping the finished home vision in mind.
Rooted in Westchester, New York
There is something particularly meaningful about working with a construction team that understands the homes and communities we design for.
From historic houses with generations of character to newer homes being reimagined for the way families live today, renovating in Westchester County presents its own set of opportunities and challenges. Local experience matters.
A. DeVito & Son, Inc. has deep roots in the region, with a family history in construction dating back to the early 1900s and a company formally incorporated in 1961. Today, Kyle DeVito represents the fifth generation of a business built on craftsmanship, integrity, and lasting relationships with clients.
Our partnership brings that experience together with Style and Space Interiors' approach to creating homes that reflect the people who live in them. It’s a collaboration built on communication, mutual respect, and a shared standard of excellence for the finished product.
At the end of the day, we're both working toward the same thing: creating homes that are functional, personal, expertly crafted, and made to last.
The best renovations come from both great design and skilled construction.
