November always makes me want to add a little warmth at home. This month’s favorites mix pieces for getting dressed, settling in, and welcoming people over. There’s plenty of color and character, but each one has a place beyond the season.
A little crimson.
The Ebony Skirt from Rails is my answer to November invitations. The bias-cut satin and delicate lace hem make it feel special, while the easy silhouette keeps it from feeling too dressed up. I’d wear it with a simple sweater and boots now, then change into heels for dinner.
A table that invites you to stay.
I love furniture that gives a room something to do. The Jett Game Table from Worlds Away has a rich, dark burl finish and two discreet drawers for cards or game pieces. It would make a beautiful spot for a game after dinner, or simply for sitting with a friend and a glass of wine.
A room wrapped in green.
Raphaël wallpaper in Moss Green, by Sandberg through Scalamandré, has the depth and movement I crave this time of year. Its leafy pattern would be gorgeous in a library, powder room, or cozy sitting room.
The prettiest evening light.
Vaughan’s Twisted Glass Candlestick table lamp pairs a twisting glass column with brass details. It has that lovely balance of delicacy and presence, whether it’s on a side table or tucked into a bookshelf.
One more layer.
The Avoca Mill Lambswool Throw from Rejuvenation is exactly what I want within reach on a chilly evening. Its tonal pattern and soft fringe add texture to a sofa or the end of a bed.
Flowers for the season.
This dried autumn bouquet, with bunny tails, lavender, eucalyptus, and pampas grass, brings a relaxed note to a mantel or entry table. I like the idea of placing it in a favorite ceramic vessel and letting the arrangement feel a little loose.
Something playful for the table.
Pottery Barn’s Icon Tumblers are a small detail that makes gathering feel fun. Set them out for drinks before dinner, then leave them on the table for everyone to enjoy.
