Preparing for Bhutan: Practical Steps & Inspired Mindset
As September draws to a close, I’ll be boarding a flight to a place that has long lived in my imagination: Bhutan. Known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon, Bhutan is a country where monasteries cling to cliffsides, prayer flags ripple in the wind, and time seems to slow into a rhythm of mindfulness and beauty.
This trip will be a personal adventure and a creative reset, but as any small business owner knows, stepping away requires both careful planning and intentional presence.
A Day at The Daymark: Meeting Future Homeowners
Today was such a special day at The Daymark in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Although the building is still under construction, the sales office opened its doors to welcome new homeowners who have already purchased their units in this stunning new development at Edge-on-Hudson.
The idea was simple but so exciting: bring together a group of professionals who can help residents transform their brand-new spaces into homes they truly love. Closet organizers, window treatment experts, AV specialists, furniture representatives—and us at Style and Space—were all there to meet, connect, and share ideas.
Designing Through the Chaos: Interior Design, Summer Camp Drop-Offs & Pickleball Glory
Let’s just say it: summer is beautiful... and also mildly unhinged.
One minute you’re lighting a citronella candle and sipping something that contains at least one sprig of mint, and the next you’re triple-booked between a wallpaper delivery, camp pick-up that “absolutely cannot be late again,” and a surprisingly intense pickleball tournament you signed up for on a whim.
Somehow, amidst it all, we’re still making beautiful spaces happen—and if that’s not a design miracle, I don’t know what is.
Bring Your Daughter to Work Day (Unplanned but Perfect)
Starting my own business eight years ago was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken.
I had so much self-doubt. But bringing Edie to work and showing her, in real-time, that her mom owns and operates a high-end interior design firm—that was one of those full-circle, pinch-me moments.
I want my kids to grow up knowing they can follow their own dreams, no matter how unconventional. That there are no rules. No boundaries. That they don’t have to fit into a mold—they can create something entirely their own.
