For this Briarcliff Manor family who loves nothing more than gathering their extended family around the table, we reimagined a kitchen that was as unorganized as it was uninspired. Before any renovation design began, we took full inventory of every cabinet, from cookware to spices, so we could design around how the family actually cooks, creating a seamless flow between prepping, presenting, and cleaning up. Because this family regularly hosts catered gatherings, warming drawers and generous buffet space were essential. We debated a prep sink in the island, but the client knew her own kitchen best, choosing extra counter space for platters and cutting boards instead. Rifted oak cabinetry brings warmth and texture throughout, with upper cabinets that come down to sit directly on the countertop for an unexpected, layered look, while a custom banquette tucked into the bay window overlooks sweeping Hudson River views. The result is a kitchen renovation in Briarcliff Manor that is as functional as it is beautiful, designed for real life, real family, and real entertaining.
