A Laundry Room That Proves Beautiful Design Belongs Everywhere
Some of the most memorable rooms in a home aren't always the largest or the most formal. Sometimes they're the spaces we use every day - the rooms that functionally support our routines.
This laundry room is a perfect example.
Our client had a wonderful vision for this space, selecting a beautiful Claret & Key wallpaper and a timeless color palette that instantly transformed what could have been a purely functional room into one full of personality and charm.
A Claret & Key Wallpaper That Sets the Tone
The star of the room is undoubtedly the hand-painted wallpaper from Claret & Key.
Its soft, artistic pattern creates movement and warmth while giving the room an elevated, collected feel. Choosing wallpaper in a hardworking space like a laundry room is an unexpected design decision, but that's exactly what makes it so memorable.
It's a reminder that utility spaces deserve just as much personality as the rooms where we entertain.
Grounding the Space With Beadboard
To balance the wallpaper, the lower half of the room features classic beadboard painted in Farrow & Ball's Parma Gray, a soft blue-gray that complements the wallpaper beautifully without competing with it.
One detail we especially love is that the exposed plumbing vent was painted to match the beadboard. Rather than allowing it to stand out, it becomes part of the architecture as a small decision that helps the room feel polished and intentional.
